Aotemolung Medemsanger Putu Menden Mopungchuket (AMPMM) has banned use of single-use plastic carry bags in Mopungchuket village effective from May 1, 2019. In a press release, office of AMPMM informed that the decision was taken in a meeting on March 10 and that the ban has been imposed as part of the AMPMM’s effort and commitment to make Mopungchuket a plastic-free village. It has requested visitors to the village and travellers passing through to respect the cause.
