AMPNWS holds cultural day

The All Madhya Pradesh Naga Welfare Society (AMPNWS) celebrated its inaugural Cultural Day at Labh Mandapam, Indore, bringing together more than 500 guests in a first-of-its-kind cultural event by a northeastern community in Madhya Pradesh.
The event showcased the rich cultural heritage, traditions and unity of the Naga people while strengthening ties among the community and promoting cultural exchange.
Delivering the exhortation, National vice president of BJP and chairman of MARCOFED, Dr. M. Chuba Ao, highlighted the Northeast’s rich cultural diversity and stressed that its traditions continue to foster peace, harmony and unity. He also invited attendees to visit Nagaland and experience the internationally acclaimed Hornbill Festival.
The cultural programme featured a folk song by the Zeliangrong Community, a performance titled Rhythms of Life by Chui Ruangmei and a colourful cultural parade.
The highlight of the event was an address by and advisor for I&PR and Soil & Water Conservation, Daochier I. Imchen, MLA recalling his college days, he spoke about how a small cultural initiative named Footprints grew into a successful annual event, expressing hope that AMPNWS Cultural Day would similarly evolve into a landmark celebration.
Emphasising the importance of preserving cultural identity, Imchen encouraged the community to take pride in its traditions and share them with wider society so that future generations and people from other communities can appreciate the richness of Naga heritage.
Short addresses were also delivered by Pratap Nair, representing the Mayor of Indore, Jai Kumrawat, representing TRIFED under the Ministry of Tribal Affairs and Neeraj Sankat, Founder of the Indore Social Welfare Foundation.
The programme also included an artist spotlight featuring Boss Meren, a cultural ballad by the Sumi Community and an investiture ceremony conducted by secretary of NMM Rev. Lipokinba. A vote of thanks was delivered by assistant general secretary of AMPNWS Atoholi Yepthomi. An exhibition of indigenous products, including a Tribes India stall, attracted considerable interest from visitors throughout the day.
The celebration concluded with a live concert featuring renowned artists Boss Meren, Moko Koza, Chui Ruangmei, Emma Hmar and Litoka Kinimi, bringing the inaugural Cultural Day to a memorable close.
