Amur Falcon: Naga and Pangti arrive Nagaland

Satellite tagged Amur falcon birds— Naga and Pangti arrived Nagaland (Doyang, Wokha) on October 29 after covering a distance of approximately 44000 kms, completing the second cycle of migration, Principal Chief Conservator of Forests and Head of Forest Force M. Lokeswara Rao informed in a press note.
In November 7, 2013 three Amur Falcon birds were satellite tagged and released from Doyang– Naga, Wokha and Pangti. However, over a period of time Wokha became inactive, Lokeswara Rao stated.
He said that the satellite tag weighing 5 grams where fitted on Naga (male) with color ring number KAM C56801, Pangti (female) color ring number KFM C56803 and Wokha (female) had color ring number KCM C56802.  Rao said November 7 was a historic moment for the local populace as well as the state. 
He further said that the conservation by local communities  and other organizations, to protect the Amur Falcon birds have earned the state international acclaim and also the name ‘Falcon Capital of the World’.
