Anava Hospital, a private hospital located at Settsu village, Mokokchung was inaugurated for OPD services on Tuesday.
Anava is a Hebrew word which means “Humility and Gentleness”. The hospital will be run by Dr. Nadia (Gynae) and Dr, Sungti Jamir (Surgeon) with a vision to provide compassionate and cost-effective quality health care in remote areas.
According to Dr. Sungti, OPD services like clinical examination, pharmacy, lab and other investigations will be in operational and expressed the hope that within two to three months, the hospital will be admitting patients.
Earlier in the thanksgiving program, advisor Transport and Technical Education, Temjenmenba who attended the program expressed gratitude to the two doctors and their family members for coming up with a noble venture and a selfless act of giving back to the people. He hoped that the hospital will cater to the needs of the people not only for Mokokchung but the adjoining areas. Short speeches were also delivered by chairman Settsu village council and Changki Union Mokokchung.
After the thanksgiving program, the ribbon cutting ceremony was held where Metongmeren (father of Dr. Sungti) and retired Vigilance Commissioner along with his wife cut the ribbon.
