DIMAPUR: All Nagaland College Students’ Union (ANCSU) has expressed serious concern over the prolonged delay in registering coaching institutes across the state and has urged the state government to intervene immediately.
In a reminder letter addressed to the state chief secretary, ANCSU president Kivika Yeptho and assistant general secretary Imnawabang T. Lkr said that despite the issuance of guidelines more than five months ago, not a single coaching institute has been formally registered till date.
The union said it had first appealed to the higher and technical education department and district administrations on February 12, 2026, to streamline and expedite the registration process. However, ANCSU noted with “grave concern” that the authorities have failed to act on the matter.
The union said the continued inaction raised serious questions about the effectiveness of the implementation mechanism and the commitment of the responsible departments towards protecting the interests of students and aspirants.
Acknowledging that administrative procedures take time, the union, however, stated it would not remain a “mute spectator” when the welfare of students was neglected.
All Nagaland College Students’ Union has, therefore, appealed to the state chief secretary to direct all district administrations to promptly verify and forward the applications of coaching institutes to the state level committee for early registration to avoid any confrontation.
