ANCSU temporarily suspends further course of action

All Nagaland College Students’ Union (ANCSU), which has demanded probe into the selection process of technical education, on Thursday said it has unanimously decided to temporarily suspend its further course of action till the investigation process was complete.
In a press release, ANCSU president Tsukjem Lkr and general secretary Katho P. Awomi said since the ANCSU rejected the HPC report in toto, the chief minster had consented to the just demand of the ANCSU and approved to handing over the case to the state vigilance commission (SVC) for investigation.
It stated that SVC has been directed to complete the investigation within three months time and thus action would be initiated on the recommendation of the SVC.
Stating that it would be closely observing the process of investigation, ANCSU said, if required, it would extend its cooperation to the SVC during the course of investigation.
“Various documents and evidences collected during the past one year of struggle in our fight for justices of students ‘will be made available to the investigating agency,” said the signatories.
ANCSU expressed hope that a fair and honest probe would be conducted, which would ensure that the deserving students’ career would never again be sacrifice at the hands of vested interest.
A three-member fact finding committee (FFC) was constituted by the ANCSU in 2014 to detect the irregularity and anomalies “committed” by the technical education department in conduct and selection of students’ for various Technical courses with special reference from 2010 onwards.
FFC after thorough examination found out that there was enough evidence against the technical education department.
