All Nagaland Domestic Workers Union (ANDWU) has elected a new team of five new executive members to replace those who had completed their term at the annual general body meeting on December 10.
The members represented 31 colonies, with a total of 355 attendees. The newly elected members were felicitated by Sr. Pramila, director of the Assisi Centre for Integrated Development and Coordinator of National Domestic Workers Movement (NDWM) Nagaland Region, along with Adv. Priya Shyam. The election process highlighted the importance of leadership renewal and strengthening the union’s framework.
Earlier, the program began with an address by Adv. Priya, who highlighted the crucial role of the union’s office bearers and members in protecting the rights and dignity of domestic workers.
She emphasized the strength of collective action through the union and the significant contributions of women domestic workers to society. A key highlight of the event was the sharing session by members Asela, Maya, and Muni, who had recently attended a training program in Puri.
