All Nagaland Field Staff Association (ANFSA) PHED, Dimapur unit has appealed to the Public Health Engineering Department (PHED) to regularise the service of eligible work-charged employees, who have completed 30 years and above of service.
In a press release, ANFSA Dimapur unit president, M Olemnungsang said the files relating to recommendation for regularization of work-charged employees have remained pending before the State Cabinet since 2019.
As the files have remained pending, the unit said the fate of many of the work-charged employees are subjected to extreme situation of retiring away on completion of 35 years of service, without regularization of service and hence without pension benefits.
All Nagaland Field Staff Association Dimapur unit stated that it is the statutory rights of the work-charged employees to get regularized on completion of 30 years of work-charged services in terms of the provisions of the Nagaland Work-Charged and Casual Employees Regulation Act, 2001 (NWCCER Act, 2001).
Stating that the work-charged employees are neither demanding nor asking for any gratuitous grants from the government, the unit said it was only demanding that the statutory rights be granted to the work-charged employees.
Further, All Nagaland Field Staff Association Dimapur unit has called upon the concerned authorities to act in accordance with law without subjecting the work-charged employees to further prejudices.
