Angami Public Organisation (APO) to celebrate golden jubilee on Apr 8

In view of its golden jubilee scheduled to be held on April 8, Angami Public Organisation (APO) held a press conference, here, on Tuesday.
Addressing the media, APO president Razouvotuo Chatsu informed that the mega celebration was a reminder to all the members of the Angami community to strengthen their bonds and also to harbour a sense of brotherhood.
Acknowledging the contribution of Angami Public Organisation over the years, Chatsu said that its first president, Zapuvisie Lhousa would also be present at the celebration.
He disclosed that around 15,000 Angamis were expected to participate in full traditional gears at the golden jubilee, which would also be attended by the state chief minister, Neiphiu Rio as chief guest.
Meanwhile, convenor of the organising committee, K Neibou Sekhose informed that 104 flags would be hoisted by respective chairmen commemorating 104 villages in the Angami region.
He said APO president would hoist the APO flag while the chief minister would release the jubilee flag.
A mass tree plantation would also be carried out in Kohima to commemorate the celebration.
It may be mentioned that the Angami community would also be constructing “Nousi-ki” building which translates to oneness and understanding.
The building would be utilised by all the tribes.
Sekhose informed that the site was yet to be finalised. He however, said it would be completed by end of 2023.
While making an appeal to all the members of the Angami community to take a day’s leave to be a part of the celebration, he informed that all four ranges of the Angami region would come together, symbolising unity, strength and prosperity.
Sekhose also highlighted that the main aim of the celebration was to forgive and make peace with one another in the name of jubilee and to do good to one another.
The celebration would also include entertainment programme where unity dance would be the main highlight.
Angami folk songs and other talents would also be exhibited, followed by a special number from renowned Naga musician, Methaneilie Jütakhrie.
