Anganwadi house constructed at Tamlu village under RD Block, Tamlu in convergence with Social Welfare department was inaugurated by ADC Tamlu, T. Renabemo Odyuo as chief guest on August 14, in the presence of EAC, BDO and CDPO Tamlu, VCC, VCMs, church leaders and host of village leaders.
During the inaugural programme, chief guest in his speech urged the gathering to make best use of the house. He disclosed that after so many years of the existence of ICDS program in the state, a pucca building of anganwadi house has finally come up under a very special program of convergence between RD and Social Welfare department. He also donated a sum of Rs. 5000/- to purchase a fan which he felt was important for the children in view of hot climate.
EAC Tamlu, Nukshi Mathong, also exhorted the gathering by emphasizing on the need to improve in service delivery at anganwadi centre.
Earlier, the programme was chaired by BDO Tamlu, S. Samuel Phom, invocation prayer pronounced by Tamlu Village Baptist Church (TVBC) pastor Paushing, while welcome address was delivered by Tamlu Village Council (TVC) chairman Phuhnem Phom.
CDPO Tamlu,T. Longlang Phom delivered vote of thanks. He also mentioned about the six services under ICDS program. He encouraged the villagers to benefit from the Anganwadi centre and the anganwadi workers who have been professionally trained health worker and further pointed that SNP was only one part of the six services of ICDS Scheme.
