The first batch of training for 20 Anganwadi workers under Chümoukedima block on mental health, mental illness, intellectual disability and epilepsy for consequent identification was organised by Community Mental Health Programme (CMHP) under Prodigals’ Home at its project office at Chümoukedima on February 24.
Mental health concept, mental illnesses, convulsive epilepsy and intellectual disability were topics covered by resource persons, Tiarenla, Yeshito, Kedingunuo, Toshiwapang and supplemented by K. Sani, all of whom were CMHP team members.
The main objective of the training was to accustom Anganwadi workers with cited illnesses/disorders in order for them to easily identify persons with such illnesses/disorders and refer them to CMHP project for treatment and intervention.
