DIMAPUR: All Nagaland Government Drivers’ Association (ANGDA) has strongly condemned the alleged abduction, brutal assault, criminal intimidation and ransom demand against one of its members on July 6 at Phoolbari, Kohima.
In a condemnation note, ANGDA president, Neiketou Dzeyie and general secretary, Tsalio Sangtam, termed the incident as a grave attack on the rule of law and a serious threat to public peace and security.
The association expressed solidarity with the victim’s family and prayed for speedy recovery. The association urged law enforcement agencies to conduct a swift, impartial and time bound investigation to identify and apprehend the perpetrators. It reiterated its zero tolerance policy towards violence, kidnapping, intimidation and extortion, calling for exemplary punishment under the law.
ANGDA cautioned that any delay in bringing offenders to justice would embolden criminal elements and erode public confidence. It further appealed to authorities to take preventive measures to ensure such incidents do not recur.
