Anglo Zeme dictionary released

DIMAPUR:

The maiden Anglo Zeme dictionary, also known as Zeme Samriak, has been released and welcomed by Zeme intellectuals across North East India as a significant step towards fostering a common language for the Zeme community and preserving it for posterity.
Compiled by N. Haisoyi Ndang and Isamrangbe Pame with inclusive illustrations, the dictionary was prepared in accordance with the resolution of the Zeme Literature Board, North East India.
The release programme, held on April 28 at NZPO Conference Hall (Rest House), Jalukie, began with an invocation prayer by Alan Pame and was dedicated by Rev. Dr. Mongzeung Mpom, president of Nagaland Baptist Pastors’ Union and ZBCC Nagaland.
The event was attended by officials of the Zeme Councils of Assam, Manipur and Nagaland. The dictionary was formally released by chairman of Zeme Literature Board North East India, Koheuteung Chuilo, who also served as chief host of the programme.
The programme concluded with a benediction prayer offered by Nchaheing Hemang.
