ANGPTA cautions against unauthorized membership fees

DIMAPUR, MAR 17 (NPN):

The All Nagaland Government Primary Teachers’ Association (ANGPTA) has cautioned primary teachers against paying membership fees or donations to unauthorised individuals or groups.
In a statement issued through its media cell, ANGPTA, which claims to be the largest teachers’ body under the Department of School Education representing over 10,000 primary teachers, said it was established in 2014 to safeguard the welfare and collective interests of primary teachers across Nagaland.
The association stated that several organisations, including ANGPTA, had emerged under the department as the All Nagaland School Teachers’ Association (ANSTA) had failed to adequately address the grievances and concerns of various teacher cadres over the years. It recalled that, following prolonged dissatisfaction with ANSTA’s functioning, primary teachers and others parted ways with the association more than a decade ago.
ANGPTA expressed concern over recent reports circulating on electronic media under the banner of ANSTA, promoting a bank account and GPay number to collect membership fees from different categories of teachers.
Clarifying that ANSTA no longer represented all cadres, including primary teachers, ANGPTA said it now catered only to certain groups.
It urged teachers not to make payments to unauthorised persons and warned that any individual found soliciting funds without proper mandate would face strict action.
