All Nagaland Petroleum Dealers Union (ANPDU) has once again appealed to the public not to panic by believing in rumours about shortage of fuel supply in the state.
Despite assurances made by the state government and petrol pump dealers, large number of vehicles continued to throng the fuel outlets in Dimapur till late evening on Saturday. When contacted, ANPDU president Akokla Pongen Lucy said there were rumours about shortage of fuel at Numaligarh Refinery Limited (NRL), which was not true.
While assuring that Nagaland has enough stock to last for a month, Lucy appealed to the public not to panic. She also clarified that outlets have daily stock limitation and once they exhaust the stock, the outlets are bound to close for the day. She said some oil tankers were stranded in view of the bandh. However, by Sunday, Lucy was hopeful that NRL tankers will reach Dimapur.
