The All Nagaland Private School Association (ANPSA) Mokokchung Unit today celebrated the silver jubilee celebration at the conference hall of Hotel Whispering Wind. The celebration was held under the theme “Towards Educational Excellence – A Legacy of learning”.
The celebration was graced by Pheloupfhelie Kesiezie, administrator, Northfield School Kohima & senior advisor, ANPSA Central Kohima as the guest of honor.
The guest of honor, in his speech, stressed on educational excellence in order to meet the challenges of the present situation. The legacy of excellence according to him lies in the institution where a pupil grows. He said a bad teacher talks, a good teacher explains and an outstanding teacher inspires.
He further pointed out that the state currently faces a huge challenge of unemployment, adding that our system of education in the state has added more to the unemployment problem, even as he cited examples of other countries where the system of education is structured and streamlined from the primary stages.
He was also of the opinion that framing of proper education policy will go a long way in mitigating this problem. He further encouraged the students to study subjects to up skill, to be accommodative, and overcome challenges.
Earlier in the program, greeting messages were delivered by Kewimesin Nriame EAC in place of DC Mokokchung and Sentinenla, District Education Officer Mokokchung.
The welcome address was delivered by Joshua Longkumer, president ANPSA Mokokchung Unit. The program also witnessed the release of jubilee souvenir by the guest of honor Pheloupfhelie Kesiezie.
