All Nagaland Private Schools Association (ANPSA) Pfutsero Sub-Division organised “cultural meet” under the theme: “Shaping Minds with Cultural Values” at Nazareth School, Pfutsero on April 21. The event was graced by Asst. District Manager, NSRLM, RD department Phek, Zhalie Puro.
In his brief message, Zhalie informed the gathering about the rich Naga culture, including organic food and drinks, traditional agricultural practices and dignity of labour.
He advised the members present to preserve and promote the rich cultural heritage of the Nagas. He also encouraged the association to organise more such events in the future.
A total of 16 schools participated in folk song quartet competition and nine schools in the drama competition based on the Naga folktale, “The Legend of Sopfunuo”. The judges for the drama competition were: Diezeno Tase Asst. Prof. PGC, Neitele Mero Asst. Prof. BTC and Dr. Aneile Puro Associate Prof. DIET. The judges for Quartet were Shuduzo Curhah, Wekhroü Ritse and Vehüsülü Rose.
The results of the competition was declared by headmaster, Eastern Mission High School,Chizami, Vikholie Venuh. In drama competition- the first position was bagged by Baptist School, Pfutsero followed by Nazareth School, Pfutsero and Baptist Mission School, Phusachodu in second and third positions.
In quartet competition, the winners were: Baptist School, Pfutsero (1st), Union Christian School, Pfutsero (2nd) and Solomon Christian School, Middle Khomi (3rd). On the occasion, the best actor award both male and female were also presented to Kosoho of Baptist School, Pfutsero (male) and Sopfunuo of Eastern Mission High School, Chizami (female).
Earlier, the programme commenced with an invocation by principal, Nazareth School, Fr. Lancy Santosh D’Costa and welcome address by president ANPSA Pfutsero Sub-Division, Thepuhu Thira.
The Hill Brothers Band performed their original song “Tüce Küsa”.
