ANPSTA demands release of1168 PT posts for recruitment

DIMAPUR, AUG 22 (NPN)

All Nagaland Pre Service Teachers Association (ANPSTA) has demanded immediate release 1168 Primary Teacher post vacancies for recruitment within two weeks through NSSB.
In a representation to the principal director school education, ANPSTA president Hitova I Murrumi and general secretary Chalievi-I Dahou highlighted the “unprecedented delay” of over 10 years in conducting open recruitment and demanded age relaxation of 10 years for eligible candidates.
Emphasising the importance of merit-based selection for teacher recruitment, the association said that selection process must be solely based on merit, devoid of any reservations or quotas that could compromise the quality of education.
Further, the association highlighted the need for clear eligibility criteria, with an essential qualification being a D.El.Ed. degree from a government-recognized institution as per Supreme Court order and not to B.ed, M.ed, ECCE or Montessori trainees.
Therefore, ANPSTA has urged the school education department to ensure that recruitment process was conducted in a fair, transparent, and merit-based manner. The association cautioned that any deviation from those requirements would “hold the department accountable for any unseen consequences.”
