Reiterating its appeal to the state government to implement regularization of work-charged (W-C) employees under the 67% quota, the All Nagaland PWD Field Workers Association (ANPWDFWA) has cautioned that failure to fulfil its demand would compel all its division/sub-division units to go on strike blocking all the existing PWD roads.
In a representation addressed to the commissioner & secretary, works & housing department, the ANPWDFWA president, K. Atovi Awomi, and general secretary, Zubemo Ngullie, also warned that in the event of any untoward incidents during the bandh the department would held solely responsible.
The association alleged that many fresh appointments were being done under 67% quota, which was meant for senior most genuine W/C employees and several W/C employees awaiting regularisation under the quota.
The association stated that despite several appeals on the matter, the department had turned a deaf ear.
Further, urging the department for complete implementation of the reservation quota, the association stated that they were demanding what was rightfully theirs.
