ANSCU demands probe into fund utilization

All Nagaland College Students’ union (ANSCU) has demanded the state government to constitute an enquiry commission to probe into the fund utilization of Rs. 3,71,60,000 at Khelhoshe Polytechnic Atoizu (KPA) under AICTE-NEQIP scheme within 30 days.

In a representation addressed to the state chief secretary, ANCU president Vimeyiekho Vitso, vice president Inato Y Chisho and general secretary, Imnameren N Jamir demanded that the commission bring out the report within one month from the date of its constitution. 

ANCSU also urged the chief secretary to take cognizance of similar scheme implementation in other institutes.

According to ANCSU, it had on November 15, 2019 filed RTI application seeking information about various activities in respect of KPA under the scheme of AICTE-NEQIP.

In the information furnished, ANCSU said total fund received was Rs.3,71,60,000 and total amount received was utilised fully.

Accordingly, the union said they visited the institute and witnessed activities under AICTE-NEQIP scheme along with some lecturers of the institute. 

However, the union said it was “thoroughly unsatisfied” with the claimed developments through the funds received.
