In a brief programme held at the office of the All Nagaland Taxi Association (ANTA) Mokokchung unit on Monday, the unit handed over 14 sets of CCTV cameras with necessary accessories to Mokokchung Traffic personnel. The equipment was handed over by ANTA Mokokchung unit president, Tongpang Pongen.
Speaking on the occasion, Pongen said the initiative was in line with the unit’s motto, “Service to Public.” He recalled that in 2024, the unit had carried out a cleanliness sensitisation campaign under the slogan “Keep Mokokchung Clean.”
For 2025, he said, the unit decided to assist traffic personnel by providing CCTV cameras to be installed at strategic locations around the town to monitor vehicular movement. He added that the cameras would also help in solving cases related to hit-and-run and road accidents, which often occurred during late hours.
In his acceptance speech, Mokokchung Traffic OC, Athang Longkumer, lauded ANTA Mokokchung unit for the gesture, stating that the contribution would greatly assist in easing the growing traffic congestion in the town.
