Ao Kaketshir Mungdang has appealed to Deputy Commissioner Mokokchung to intervene in the dispute that has led to the prolonged closure of Government High School Longkhum.
In a representation submitted to the deputy commissioner, AKM president Lanulemba Longchar and general secretary Aomayang Longkumer expressed concern that the school has remained shut since February 27, 2026, over a dispute regarding the appointment of fourth-grade staff.
AKM said the closure, now exceeding 50 days, has badly affected the studies of more than 50 enrolled students.
The union stated that continued disruption has brought academic activities to a halt and placed students’ future at risk.
The organisation urged the DC to step in immediately, help all stakeholders reach an amicable settlement, and ensure the school reopens without further delay.
