
Ao Kaketshir Telongjem Diphupar celebrated its 25th anniversary on Tuesday at the Stone Garden, NEZCC, Diphupar, with professor A. Lanunungsang as the speaker on theme, “Nüchuba Asoshi Lungjemer (Unifying to Liberate)”.
In his speech, Lanunungsang, explained the concept of liberty and truth with reference to the bible from the book of Galatians. He stressed on unity among the Nagas as a whole and stated that unity is when people come together with other individuals or groups to form something greater than themselves. Quoting an old saying, “pen is mightier than the sword”, he said that the power of truth is the greatest strength.
He asserted that there was a need to liberate oneself from the worldly traits of sins and immoralities and that unity in all walks of life was the need of the hour, he added.
During the programme, Kuzholuzo Nienu, MLA, released the AKTD jubilee souvenir.
In his speech, Azo, said 25 years was a long way and that AKTD’s silver jubilee celebration would not be possible without the help of Almighty God. Stating that jubilee was a time of reconciliation in true spirits, he urged the gathering that people must forgive and forget. He encouraged taking corrective steps to strengthen Naga unity.
Earlier the programme was chaired by S Bendang Imsong and T Amongla Ozüküm, opening act was done by AKTD officials. Invocation by Ao Baptist Church Diphupar (ABCD) pastor N. Lipok Jamir, AKTD president Tangit Jamir delivered the presidential speech. Short speeches were given by first AKTD president-Moayanger, ASTD chairman-Latong Pongen, DNSU president-Kumlamo Patton, AKTD president-Lanutoshi Aier, special numbers were presented by Lungtet group and Jubilee Choir, vote of thanks by planning committee convenor-Opanglemba.
Closing of the jubilee celebration was performed by CED, ABCD and benediction by ABCD women associate pastor-Alemla.
