The 7th Convocation ceremony of Ao Riju was held on Saturday at Aor Kilem (Conference Hall), Mokokchung.
Delivering keynote address, on the theme “Sobaliba Tamentakdakji Pei Oshi” (Language is the root of our cultural identity), executive secretary of ABAM, Rev. Temsu Jamir congratulated the 104 graduates—21 certificate holders, 43 diploma recipients, and 40 post graduate diploma awardees. He urged the community to embrace and promote the Ao language, describing it as a vital expression of identity, values, wisdom, and history. Rev. Temsu emphasized that language fosters unity and serves as a storehouse of culture.
Earlier, the programme began with an introductory address by Chief Information Commissioner (Rtd), I Meyionen Jamir, followed by a message from Ao Senden general secretary, Imtipokyim. Felicitation was administered by Ao Riju president, Rev. Prof. Rongsen.
The event was chaired by Asst. Prof. FAC, Repabenla, with invocation by S Daniel Ao and benediction by Rev. Puryapang. A special song was presented by Ao Honours students of FAC, and the vote of thanks was delivered by P/H & Coordinator, I Temjen Tzudir.
The ceremony marked a significant milestone in Ao Riju’s journey of cultural preservation and academic growth.
