In a significant decision with wide ramifications, the Ao Senden (Ao Hoho), issued a three-point ultimatum to the Changki Ayim Asem Mungdang(CAASM) with regard to the Changki imbroglio at its general meeting in the Town Hall Mokokchung, Tuesday attended by units of the six Ao ranges, DBs, GBs, VCMs, senior citizens and public.
After deliberating on the issue of expulsion of members of Emrem Changki by the CAASM, the Ao Senden directed that:
1. The Changki Ayim Asem Mungdang (CAASM) should call back, all the people of Changki who have been expelled from their village on before July 18 2008 without any condition.
2. The people of Changki who have been expelled from their village should go back to their village on the day as and when they are invited.
3. If the conflicting two parties of Changki villagers fail to accept the above resolutions, the Ao Senden shall be compelled to impose the following conditions beginning from 19 July 2008 onwards.
(a) The Ao Community shall impose “ainkishi” upon the entire Changki people (a strongest taboo of closing of doors for the strangers), (b) The Ao community shall abstain from the use of Changki people in any of the Ao socio-political organization, (c) No Changki people shall be allowed to enter into Ao soil and within the boundary of Ao community, (d) The Ao Senden Executive Committee is delegated with full power for successful implementation of this resolutions w.e.f. 19 July 2008 onwards.
