‘AOLAN’ project inaugurated in Mon

Deputy commissioner Mon, Ajit Kumar Verma on Tuesday inaugurated the “AOLAN” project, named after a Konyak word “Eagle”, at the SP Office, Mon. Under “AOLAN” project, CCTV cameras have been installed at strategic locations in Mon and along the highway.


In a press release, PRO of DEF Mon, informed that DC congratulated SP Mon and team for successful completion of Aolan 1, project Phase 1. He also sought civil societies and public support to maintain and to avail the facility.


Speaking at the occasion, SP Mon, Kanchan Kumar Kandpal, expressed gratitude to all stakeholders who contributed to the successful launch of the project. He emphasized the importance of community collaboration in ensuring the project’s success.


In Phase 1, a total of 18 strategic locations in Mon town and 24 cameras along the highway area have been equipped with state-of-the-art CCTV systems. The installations was aimed to strengthen the prevention and detection of crimes, assist in evidence collection and ensure better monitoring of public safety.


The central monitoring of the CCTV feeds will be carried out at a dedicated room in the SP office, Mon, equipped with specialized staff to ensure round-the-clock surveillance
The project will expand further in Phase 2, covering additional locations to enhance security measures comprehensively.


The inaugural programme was attended by civil society leaders KU president, KNSK president, other dignitaries and Unit officers, marking a significant step towards enhanced security and surveillance in the region.
