Aoyimti HWC new building inaugurated

The new building of Aoyimti Health & Wellness Center (HWC) was inaugurated by Mission Director, National Health Mission Nagaland, Dr. Temsula on October 30.

A press release by District media officer, Dimapur, Kimnei stated that Dr. Temsula in her speech said that to bring medical facilities to the people, Sub Centers were upgraded to Health & Wellness Centers (HWC) and to provide quality services, staff nurses who have undergone comprehensive six months training were posted as Community Health Officers (CHO).

CHOs are trained not only to provide health services but also to provide wellness in the community such as yoga, elderly care etc, she said.

She further stated that since most diseases are non-communicable such as diabetes, hypertension, cancer etc, the HWC also focuses on the prevention of such diseases. She also appreciated the community leaders for their support and contribution in the completion of the building and hope that the community will continue to take ownership of the health centers.

She also urged the community leaders to continue encouraging the community to go for Covid19 vaccine and follow Covid appropriate behaviours even after vaccination.

Chief Medical Officer Dimapur, Dr. Moatemjen also reiterated that non-communicable diseases are mostly because of the lifestyle and can be easily prevented. Anyone with hypertension or diabetes should regularly monitor themselves at the HWC which is easily accessible and free instead of going to private health facilities.

He urged the community to take ownership of the HWC and also to avail all the health facilities provided.

Earlier, the programme chaired by CHO, Aoyimti HWC, Khrongopeu Ritse began with an invocation and dedicatory prayer by pastor Temsu. Welcome speech was delivered by chairman AVC, Imnukloba and the vote of thanks and benediction was delivered by chairman VHC, Sosangmeren and Tiala respectively.
