APAAR ID: Govt extends period for PTM

With regard to the proposed implementation of Automated Permanent Academic Account Registry (APAAR) for every student from pre-primary to higher education, the government has notified that the Parent-Teacher Meeting (PTM) can be conducted until October 31, 2023 to accommodate the convenience of all stakeholders.

During the PTM sessions, the government notified that parents should be informed about the advantages of APAAR ID, which serves as a gateway for accessing the Digilocker ecosystem.
The government has stressed that parents should not be coerced or pressured to fill out the consent form for APAAR ID.

APAAR ID allows students to digitally store various achievements, including exam results, holistic report cards, and learning outcomes, as well as achievements in areas such as OLYMPIAD, sports, skill training, and other fields. In the future, students can use their APAAR ID credit score for higher education or employment purposes.
