Eastern Nagaland People’s Organisation (ENPO), frontal organisations under ENPO and six apex tribal organisations have condemned the brutal killing of a couple between Shamator and Kiphire towns by unidentified miscreants on February 6, 2016.
In a joint press statement issued by ENPO president, presidents of six apex tribal bodies — Chang Khulei Setshang (CKS), Khiamniungan Tribal Council (KTC), Konyak Union (KU), Phom Peoples’ Council (PPC), United Sangtam Likhum Pumji (USLP) and Yimchunger Tribal Council (YTC) – and presidents of Eastern Nagaland Women Organisation (ENWO) and Eastern Naga Students Federation (ENSF) have strongly urged the state government’s special investigation team (SIT), set up by the state government, to bring the perpetrators responsible for the cold blooded murder to book at the earliest so as to avoid any further ugly situation that was anticipated.
The apex organisations also appealed to all the citizens in the area to maintain peace and calm until such time an amicable solution was arrived at between the communities.
