In a vibrant show of sportsmanship and community pride, OSD (Sports) at DYRS, former international footballer, and Futsal coach, Roko Angami, officially unveiled the away jersey of Aphuyemi Football Club. The launch comes as the club gears up to represent Nagaland at the upcoming National Futsal Championship in Rudrapur, Uttarakhand, slated for August 3 to 18, 2025.
Angami extended his heartfelt congratulations to Aphuyemi FC for clinching the title at the Nagaland Futsal Championship, praising the team’s dedication and skill. He emphasized the significance of this achievement, noting that many renowned international football stars have launched their careers through futsal.
Commending the club’s leadership under Shiyeto Wotsa, Angami highlighted Aphuyemi FC’s contributions to football development in the region and their excellence in futsal. He expressed optimism that the team’s participation in the national championship will open new avenues for Nagaland’s football aspirants.
Angami also lauded the efforts of chief minister Dr. Neiphiu Rio for prioritizing sports infrastructure across the state. Under Dr. Rio’s leadership, the construction of 28 futsal AstroTurfs across district headquarters has greatly enhanced access to quality training grounds.
