Apollo Hospitals Group, recognized as ‘Architect of healthcare’ in India with over 44 chains of hospitals across India, also planning to set up Apollo Centers at every district headquarter in the country, said Dr. P Radhakrishna, senior surgical consultant gastroenterologist, Apollo Hospitals Chennai.
He was in Dimapur for a day consultation of patients at the Apollo Hospitals Information and Tele Medicine Centre, Delta Services premises at Church Road, Dimapur.
Speaking to media persons here on Friday, Dr. Radhakrishna, stressed on the mission and availability of qualitative services rendered by Apollo hospitals all over India. He said, being the largest healthcare group in Asia, the centre of medical and surgical gastroenterology at Apollo hospitals, Chennai specializes in prevention, diagnosis and treatment of diseases of the digestive system and liver.
He reiterated the service is comparable to any private hospitals in India as all specialties are being done under one roof.
Elaborating on surgical gastroenterology, he emphasized on endoscopy, a procedure that uses a flexible fiberoptic tube to examine the inside of the body cavity also used to detect many upper and lower gastrointestinal problems.
S. Deep Borkotoky, coordinator of Dimapur Apollo Information Centre, Dimapur, said the center in the district, established in the year 2002 offers information service relating to medical treatment and estimated expenses wherever possible, of Apollo hospitals. He also informed that various specialists from Apollo hospitals, Chennai visit the town for consultation every three months and enlightened the people to make use of such specialists since gastritis is high in North east region.
Borkotoky assured being the ‘top most hospitals’ amongst the private sector, it provide efficient and homely treatment to patients and in case of non-availability of medicines in Dimapur, the centre would order medicines from Chennai, considering the prescription of the doctor.
