To,
The Hon’ble Advisor, Social Welfare, Government of Nagaland
Through: The Director, Department of Social Welfare, Government of Nagaland
It is with deep concern and anguish that we, the employees working under Mission Shakti – Hub for Empowerment of Women submit this appeal.
For the past 9 months, since September 2025, the supporting staff of Mission Shakti have not received their salaries.
This prolonged delay has placed us under severe financial distress. Many of us are finding it difficult to meet basic expenses including food, transport, and daily sustenance, and even to report to office.
We acknowledge the recent notification issued by the Department following an RTI filed by DCCI, stating that the State is pursuing pending liabilities with the Central Government.
However, as staff on the ground, it is difficult to have faith in this process when our counterparts in other states under Mission Shakti are receiving their wages on time.
We are not seeking charity. We are only asking for the wages we have rightfully earned through our service to the scheme.
We therefore earnestly request the Hon’ble Advisor and the Director to intervene in the matter on an urgent basis and ensure the immediate release of our pending dues.
Empowering women is the core objective of Mission Shakti. But the empowerment of women cannot be achieved without supporting and sustaining the staff tasked with delivering this mandate.
We trust in your commitment to justice and request prompt action.
Sincerely,
Concerned Mission Shakti Staff
Hub for Empowerment of Women.
Kohima, Nagaland.
