Appeal to ban stone crushers at highway

Owing to considerable damage being caused  at NH-39 paved roads and frequent inconveniences to commuters/travelers, Huzo Meru, principal, Shalom Bible Seminary has urged the government to ban all stone-quarries and stone-crushers located on the National Highways for the sake of general public.
Adding that some unscrupulous operators are least bothered about civic sense and public safety, he questioned the condition of the highway in the near future if all road-side land owners start respective projects that block drainage and damage roads.
He also sought action from concerned department and person concerned on fixation of rates for various stones and by-products like stone chips and sand etc, which frequently keep on pole-vaulting without rhyme or reason as the district authority never bother to look into the matter. Expressing concern over such matter the principal said due to such practices common people feel exploited and extorted and questioned ‘Where is the concern for the poor and needy?’
