DIMAPUR: Dr. Pritpal Kaur, Deputy Inspector General of Police (CID), launched the Apraava Energy Scholarship 2026 for underprivileged students on September 12, at Yhoshü Resource Centre (YRC), Kigwema village.
The scholarship programme is an initiative of the Eleutheros Christian Society (ECS) in collaboration with the YRC Project, Kigwema, and supported by KMTL/Apraava Energy. It aims to provide financial aid and educational opportunities to deserving young minds from the region.
Gracing the occasion as guest of honour, Dr. Kaur launched the scheme and presented certificates to student recipients. In her address, she emphasised that every student, regardless of background, deserves an equal chance to dream big and succeed. She said initiatives such as scholarships serve as vital stepping stones to ensure no talented youth is left behind due to financial constraints.
Dr. Kaur further urged students to uphold honesty, hard work and a meaningful life dedicated to service.
The Yhoshü Resource Centre currently housed a boys’ hostel, futsal ground, livelihood activities area and other facilities, while construction of a girls’ hostel is underway. The facilities are expected to benefit underprivileged students and families in the region.
