AR clear roadblocked by landslide

Assam Rifles Kiphire battalion provided assistance to volunteers of Mimi village in clearing the stretch near remote Indo-Myanmar border village, Khongjiri in Kiphire on August 25 that was blocked due to massive landslide. Assam Rifles sources informed that the road was vital as it served a vital line of communication between border village Mimi and Pungro that had been blocked due to incessant rains and landslide.

The landslide, triggered by incessant rainfall, had left the road impassable and disrupted the lives of countless residents. Recognizing the urgency of the situation, Kiphire battalion deployed their expertise and equipment, including a JCB to clear the debris.

Local residents from Mimi village also played an invaluable role in the recovery efforts, showcasing the true spirit of unity, AR sources said.
