Nagaland AR conduct civic outreach and health camp

DIMAPUR

Assam Rifles recently carried out a series of community-centric initiatives across Nagaland under its Civic Action Programme 2025–2026, focusing on infrastructure support, youth empowerment, and healthcare outreach.
On October 30, Assam Rifles distributed Sintex water tanks and essential utility items including water purifiers, solar lanterns, and sewing machines to Piphema Basa village in Chümoukedima. The initiative responded to local requests for improved water storage and livelihood support, with the sewing machines aimed at promoting self-employment among women. Village leaders and elders expressed gratitude for the timely assistance ahead of the festive season.
As part of their training curriculum, 29 trainee officers of the 55th Basic Course from the North Eastern Police Academy (NEPA) visited Assam Rifles camps at Phek, Meluri, and Ziphu on October 25 and 26.
The visit aimed to familiarize trainees with the operational role and contributions of Assam Rifles in maintaining peace and security in the region. Officers were briefed on organizational structure, border management, counter-insurgency operations, and civic action efforts. The interaction also highlighted coordination between Assam Rifles, civil administration, police, and other agencies to ensure effective governance.
In Meluri district, Assam Rifles organised a Village Youth Leadership Workshop at COB New Thewati, where 21 youth from New and Old Thewati villages participated. The workshop focused on computer literacy through hands-on training, encouraging youth to embrace technology for education, communication, and community development. Participants were also motivated to take on leadership roles and drive positive change.
A dental health camp was also conducted on October 30 at Aboi village, Mon district, benefiting 70 civilians.
The medical team provided free consultations, treatments, and awareness sessions on oral hygiene and preventive care. The initiative aimed to support communities with limited access to dental services and promote long-term health awareness.
