Assam Rifles marked World Nature Conservation Day with a community cleanup drive in Jotsoma village, aimed at restoring the natural beauty of the area and improving public infrastructure.
The drive focused on clearing a major village road blocked by water runoff from continuous rainfall. Assam Rifles personnel and villagers worked together to remove waste and debris, improving accessibility and benefiting both residents and visitors. The initiative strengthened community ties and highlighted the importance of public participation in environmental protection.
MELURI: In another initiative, Assam Rifles organised “A Day With Company Commander” at Meluri, engaging 42 students from the region in a day-long youth empowerment program.
The event featured interactive games, group activities, and motivational sessions designed to build teamwork, discipline, and leadership.
Students had open discussions with the Company Commander, gaining insights into the role of Assam Rifles in maintaining peace and security.
The program aimed to inspire youth towards responsible citizenship and service-oriented goals.
