AR conduct summer camp, outreach and wellness activities

Assam Rifles Public School, Tuensang, organised a four-day Summer Camp from June 18 to 21 focusing on cultural awareness, creative learning, and soft skills development.
According to a press release, students participated in landmark visits, storytelling, public speaking, art sessions, and recreational games to build confidence and teamwork. The camp also offered exposure to the region’s cultural heritage through field visits.
On June 22, Assam Rifles hosted “A Day with Company Commander” at Thilixu, Dimapur, for students of Inache Memorial English School, Thaheku, under the theme “Click with Courage, Shoot with Purpose”. Activities included photography and videography training, a dog show, storytelling, and more. A total of 42 students, including 18 girls, and staff took part. The school appreciated Assam Rifles for the engaging and educational experience.
In another initiative, Assam Rifles conducted a yoga session at Ndunglwa village, Peren district, to promote wellness. Around 45 villagers, including women and children, participated in basic yoga, breathing, and meditation exercises.
The Village Council thanked the organisers for encouraging healthy practices.
Meanwhile, a Tobacco-Free Campaign was held at Chieswema Garrison on June 19 in collaboration with the Rev Moa Longchari (RML) Cancer Foundation. Nearly 200 personnel joined the programme, which included counselling, sainik sammelans, and signboard installation for “Tobacco-Free Barracks”.
The session featured RML Cancer Foundation president Khrienuo Moa and member Kevino Savino, with a medical talk by Dr. Keduovinuo Keditsu, Consultant Cancer Surgeon, Putuonuo Hospital.
Health experts highlighted the harmful effects of tobacco and called for lifestyle changes among troops.
