Assam Rifles organised a series of community-focused programmes under its civic action efforts on July 1, including Swachhta Abhiyan in Shamator and Noklak and an interactive event for students at Aboi, Mon.
According to Assam Rifles source, in Shamator and Noklak, personnel from all Company Operating Bases (COBs) conducted cleanliness drives and awareness sessions in collaboration with Gaon Burahs, Village Council Members, students, and villagers. Around 175 people took part in the initiative, which aimed to promote hygiene and proper waste management. Participants were also served refreshments, and villagers expressed appreciation for the continued support of Assam Rifles in community development.
Meanwhile, in Aboi, Mon district, Assam Rifles organised “A Day with Company Commander” under the theme “Dynamic Youth” for students of Paramount High School and GHSS Aboi. Over 65 students and teachers took part in the programme, which began with a flag hoisting and interaction with soldiers. The Company Commander spoke on career opportunities in the armed forces.
Students toured the company base, watched traditional performances, participated in fun games and witnessed a special dog show and air rifle display. The event aimed to foster patriotism, inspire responsible citizenship, and strengthen bonds between the forces and the youth.
