
Assam Rifles battalions under the aegis of Headquarters of Inspector General of Assam Rifles (North) have been conducting various activities across the state for the benefit of the general public.
Phek Bn: Phek Battalion of Assam Rifles conducted a motivational lecture on “join security forces” on December 11 for the students of Government Primary School, Akhen village.
Phek Battalion also conducted a lecture on waste management under theme ‘clean and green Nagaland’ at Avangkhu village, Phek.
The battalion also conducted a security meeting with village guards and village functionaries on December 2 at Avangkhu.
Jalukie Bn: Jalukie battalion of Assam Rifles conducted a cleanliness drive under “Swatchata Pakhwada” at Tening, Peren, Pedi, Athibung and Jalukie.
Jalukie battalion also conducted awareness lecture under “Swatchhta Pakhwada” initiative at village council hall, Tening town on December 9.
In another event, a mass “Shram Daan” was also organized at Peren district. The event aimed to sensitize local populace about importance of clean and healthy environment and ill effects associated with unhygienic lifestyle.
Jalukie Battalion also organised “free medical camp” at village Peletkie on December 9.
Mokokchung Bn: Mokokchung Battalion of Assam celebrated “Fitness Week” on December 8 at Assam Rifles Public School, Mokokchung. The aim of the event was to encourage students endeavour to take physical activities and sports in their daily life to maintain their mental and physical well being.
Mokokchung Battalion also conducted a “Clean Mokokchung” campaign along with Police representatives Mokokchung as a part of ‘Swachta Pakhwara Week’ on December 2.
Kohima Garrison: A state of art Sainik Institute was dedicated to troops of HQ IGAR (North) by Maj Gen P C Nair, YSM, IG Assam Rifles (North) on December 12 at Kohima Garrison.
Mon Bn: Mon Battalion of Assam Rifles conducted a Career guidance programme on November 29 at Wangkho Government College.
The battalion also organised trip for 21st Nagaland Girl Battalion NCC from Konjong Higher Secondary School to Coy Operating Base, Lungwa on December 7.
Shamator Bn: Shamator Battalion of Assam Rifles organised ‘Swachata Pakhwada’ on December 1 at Shamatore. Lecture on World Aids Day and various lifestyle disease including preventive measures was also covered. Earlier the battalion also conducted medical camp on November 24 at Langnyok.
Medziphema Bn: Medziphema Battalion hosted educational trip comprising of under trainees of Cooperative Training Centre (CTC) Medziphema on November 28.
Tuensang Bn: Tuensang Battalion conducted medical camp at Pessao village and its surrounding areas on November 29.
Dimapur Bn: Dimapur Battalion conducted contact and outreach programme for youth of Nagaland for employment in hospitality and tourism management sector on November 28, in collaboration with Pragati Edutech of Guwahati.
The battalion conducted friendly football match with a team from Khushiabil village on December 10.
Zunheboto Battalion: Zunheboto Battalion organised “Debate Competition” on “Is Swachh Bharat Abhiyan a Success or Failure” at ARPS, Zunheboto on December 9, where students actively participated in competition giving out their unbiased opinion about various pros and cons about the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan initiative.
In other event, lecture on “Hygiene and Sanitation” was conducted with an aim to promote awareness about health and sanitation.
