AR conduct various activities

5 Assam Rifles stationed at Chare, Tuensang conducted an HIV and AIDS awareness camp at Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Chare on February 24, at the school campus.
Speaking at the awareness camp, deputy commandant, F Company 5 AR Chare Mahesh Dutt, stated that awareness was the biggest weapon for prevention and fight against HIV and AIDS. 
Pointing out that the first HIV case was detected in India in 1986 and more than 2 crore people in the age group of (15 to 24 years) are infected with HIV, Mahesh maintained that lack of awareness and education contributes in spread of HIV and AIDS and advised the students to concentrate in their studies and educate and sensitise the people in their respective societies.
Nursing Assistant, F. Coy, 5 AR Abhishek Kumar Jha also enlightened the students on routes of HIV transmission and its prevention measures. Later, vote of thanks was delivered by JNV Chare, Tuensang principal Harish Kalita. 
Shamatore: Shamatore battalion under the aegis of HQ IGAR (N) organised a lecture at Shamator on February 24 with an aim to educate the local populace about the benefits of government aided housing and other central schemes. A total of 105 villagers attended the lecture.
Tuensang: Zunheboto battalion of Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (N) conducted a lecture at Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya (JNV) Chare on “drug free Nagaland” on February 24 with an aim to create awareness on the ill effects of Drugs and HIV and AIDS on the society among the students. 150 students and staff of the school attended the event.
