In an effort to reach out to locals in need of medical attention, Assam Rifles distributed essential medical assistive devices to differently abled in Noklak district, on December 20, 2024.
According to Assam Rifles source, the initiative included the distribution of 20 crutches, 37 pairs of spectacles, and 25 hearing machines, which aimed at reducing the challenges face by these needy individuals.
The initiative stemmed from a medical camp held on December 3, 2024 and after assessment, medical tests were conducted to determine the specific needs of the local population, leading to the identification of appropriate equipment for distribution. The event witnessed an overwhelming turnout, with 82 needy individuals—including children, elderly citizens, and women—benefiting from the initiative, AR informed.
The distribution aimed to alleviate daily challenges faced by those individuals in the remote and underdeveloped district of Noklak, where access to medical facilities was limited. Meanwhile, local residents expressed gratitude towards Assam Rifles for organising the event, which not only brought vital medical services directly to their community but also reinforced the organisation’s reputation as the “Sentinels of the North East.”
