DIMAPUR, AUG 27 (NPN): Assam Rifles distributed sports items to the youth of Longmatra village in Kiphire district on August 27 as part of its efforts to promote sports, youth participation and healthy recreational activities in the region.
The initiative sought to encourage young people to take part in sporting activities while fostering teamwork, discipline and community engagement. The sports items were handed over to representatives of the Longmatra youth, who expressed gratitude to Assam Rifles for the support.
The youth said the assistance would motivate local players to participate more actively in sports and contribute towards developing a healthy sporting culture in the village.
The initiative reflects Assam Rifles’ continued focus on youth development, sports promotion and community welfare, while strengthening goodwill and mutual trust with the local community.
