AR hands over 18.8-acre land to AAI for airport development

DIMAPUR, MAY 8 (NPN): A joint handing over and taking over ceremony for 18.8 acres of land occupied by the Assam Rifles Training Centre and School (ARTC&S) was held at Dimapur Airport on Friday.
According to a DIPR report, the land was transferred to the Airports Authority of India (AAI) for the development of Phase-I of Dimapur Airport.
The officials inspected the 18.8-acre site before the formal handover and takeover was executed in the presence of state government representatives.
During the meeting, the transfer of the remaining areas currently under ARTC&S occupation for Phase-II development was also discussed.
It was agreed that further directives from the competent authorities would be required for the next phase.
The land transfer marked a significant milestone in the expansion and development of Dimapur Airport.
The programme was attended by Moa Pongen, airport director AAI Dimapur; Commandant KD Sharma, CO, No. 2 Bn ARTC&S; Sentiwapang Aier, Secretary, AIR Cell, Transport Department; Polan John, Deputy Commissioner, Chumoukedima; M. Ababe Ezung, OSD, Transport Department, and other officials.
