AR hold ex servicemen meet, youth exposure tour

DIMAPUR: Assam Rifles organised an Ex Servicemen Interaction and Medical Camp in Noklak district, under the initiative of the Shamator Battalion. The programme witnessed the participation of 50 ex servicemen and Veer Naris, providing a platform for veterans to interact with the Force, share grievances and avail welfare services.
During the event, the officiating commandant and officers assured participants of all possible assistance. A medical camp was also conducted, offering health check ups and consultations. Banking assistance, grievance redressal, CSD Smart Card services and refreshments were arranged.
At the event, the application for a CSD Smart Card for Chapon Khiamngam, widow of late Pashen, was processed and formally handed over during the programme. The interaction reaffirmed Assam Rifles’ commitment to the welfare of ex servicemen and Veer Naris, strengthening the bond between the Force and its veteran community.
In another initiative, students of the 4th batch of the National Integrity and Educational Development Organisation (NIEDO), Capt (Late) N. Kenguruse MVC Centre of Excellence & Wellness, Chieswema, undertook an educational cum exposure tour to Cherrapunjee. Organised by Assam Rifles, the tour aimed at promoting experiential learning and broadening knowledge.
The students visited Mawsmai Cave, Seven Sisters Falls, Thangkharang Park, Eco Park and Elephant Falls, gaining first hand exposure to Meghalaya’s natural heritage, biodiversity and tourism potential. The visit enhanced their understanding of environmental conservation, cultural diversity and teamwork, while encouraging practical learning beyond the classroom. Assam Rifles said the initiative reflects its continued commitment to empowering youth through education and meaningful exposure, inspiring them to become responsible and confident citizens.
