AR observe ‘WHD’; organise programmes

Assam Rifles Battalion under the aegis of Headquarters Inspector General of Assam Rifles- North (IGAR-N) observed “World Health Day”, conducted meetings and other activities across Nagaland.
Jalukie: On the occasion of “World Health Day”, Assam Rifles battalion organised a unit hospital visit for school children and teachers at Jalukie on April 7. During the visit, the team explained to the children the significance of “World Health Day”, pointing out that this day was an opportunity to look back at public health successes that have improved quality of life during the last seven decades. During the visit, children were briefed about basic hygiene and sanitation, importance of physical activity, nutrition and other significant aspects of health. The event was attended by 21 students and 11 school teachers.
Old Peren Village: Commemorating “World Health Day”, Assam Rifles battalion organised a lecture on “Health for all” on April 7 at Old Peren Village. AR said the event aimed at raising awareness about health issues, promoting healthy behaviour and providing health education. An effort was made to address their concerns and provide practical tips and suggestions on how the villagers could improve their health and well-being within their local context. The lecture was attended by 47 villagers.
Wangti Village: Assam Rifles organised a security meeting on April 8 at Wangti Village, Mon district and discussed the prevailing security aspects. The meeting was attended by GBs, Village Council and Nagaland Village Guard. AR said the locals assured their full support and cooperation in maintaining peace in the region.
Chenloisho, Mon: Assam Rifles participated and connected with the locals during the Konyak Aoleang festival in Chenloisho area Mon district from April 3-7. During the festival, the Assam Rifles troops interacted with the youth, elders and important authorities conveying the best wishes of Konyak Aoleang. The troops of Assam Rifles also attended the Aoleang Festival celebration organised by Chenloisho Village Council and Wangto Student’s Union and participated in singing songs and dancing. The troops also participated in log drumming, trumpeting, fire making competition and witnessed competitions namely spinning cotton, pottery making and pounding grain song amongst locals.
Tuensang: Strengthening the Spirit of “Sentinels of North East”, Assam Rifles battalion participated in the quiz on Indian History under “Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav” at Tuensang. A total of 167 participated in the quiz competition.
