The educational tour organised by Assam Rifles for 45 students and two teachers from Shamator, concluded its journey on February 5. The tour was flagged off on January 29. The tour culminated with a flag-in ceremony held at Shamator by Assam Rifles Battalion.
During the tour, the team visited institutions of excellence and tourist attractions in Jorhat- Dimapur- Kohima. Students and teachers enthusiastically shared the experience they gained while visiting Air Force Station and Assam Rifles Dog Training Centre at Jorhat, Impur village, Garampani at Karbi Along, TATA Tea Estates, ARTC&S Sukovi, St. Joseph’s University, Dimapur, ICAR (Mithun) & ICAR (Agri), Nagaland State Secretariat, Cathedral Church & War Memorial at Kohima.
The flag in ceremony was attended by heads of civil society organizations, parents and students from different schools of the district.
NIT for elderly people: Assam Rifles flagged off a National Integration Tour (NIT) for 20 elderly people from remote border villages of Noklak district on February 5.
During the 12 days tour, the team will be visiting Agra, Delhi and Kohima. Assam Rifles source informed that the tour will enable the elderly people of the Khiamniungan tribe to venture beyond their cultural boundaries and gain insight into other Indian cultures.
