AR organises ‘Rhythm of Nagas’ musical fest in Dimapur

Assam Rifles organised a Musical Fest under the theme “Rhythm of Nagas” in Dimapur on September 2. The event was organised with an aim of fostering the talented youth of Nagaland and providing a platform to showcase the Naga culture and its unbreakable bond with music.


The event was graced by AVSM, YSM, SM, GOC, Spear Corps, Lt Gen HS Sahi, as chief guest and Maj Gen Vikas Lakhera, IGAR (North) among other senior officials. The musical fest witnessed an overwhelming attendance of more than 200 people who were left spellbound by the immense talent of participants.


The evening began with lighting of lamp by Lt Gen & Mrs HS Sahi as a symbolic gesture for commencement of the event. First performance was the song and dance “We are Nagas” by Imna Yaden in collaboration with Tribal Creed Troupe which set the pace for the evening. This was followed by a medley performance by Five Minutes Band & a foot-tapping dance performance by Dance India Dance famed Meyitemsu.


As the evening progressed, mesmerising performances by Bright Light Choir and young maestro Mayoni Phinao won the hearts of everyone present in the audience. Among these brilliant performances, two Jazz Bands of Assam Rifles also enthralled the captive audience with their fascinating performances.


The event concluded with felicitation of the participants by the chief guest Lt Gen HS Sahi. The musical fest “Rhythm of Nagas” organised by Assam Rifles is a living testimony to the whole hearted commitment of Assam Rifles towards the promotion of Naga culture and was greatly appreciated by the attendees.
