As part of its civic action programme and to maintain a cordial relation with the citizens of the state, Assam Rifles has been conducting various welfare activities and awareness programme across the state. Weapon and equipment display: The security forces organized a weapon and equipment display for the students at Chakabama on January 3.
According to Assam Rifles source, a total 50 students attended the weapon display. The students also showed keen interest in knowing about the weapons and equipment. Awareness regarding various schemes to join Armed forces was also imparted to the students during the event. Meanwhile, the teachers and students appreciated the efforts of Assam Rifles in conducting the event as it enhanced awareness of the students about the security forces and also motivated them to join the armed forces.
‘A day with company commander’: Assam Rifles also organised an event “A day with company commander” in which school students along with teachers were invited to New Thewati COB, Phek district, on January 3. A total of 50 students and three teachers from New Thewati Middle School participated in the event. Under the event, they spent day with Company Commander and actively engaged in various creative activities which were designed to demonstrate their talents. Various fun activities like – Jalebi Race, Musical chair and Blind Hit were organised, in which all the students actively participated. A cake cutting event was also organised to celebrate birthday of a student. The event ended with a lunch and group photograph with all participants and troops together.

Gift and essential items distributed: Assam Rifles visited Bright Morning Star Children Home in Kohima and presented gifts and essential items to children and staff on January 2. The aim of the initiative was to bring joy and comfort to the lives of orphan children staying in the children home.
Coordination meeting: Assam Rifles organized a security coordination meeting at Chenmoho Post on December 31, with an aim to foster unity and cooperation with villagers from Indo-Myanmar border communities. The significance of the event lies in its multifaceted impact on community relations, security enhancement, and collaborative efforts.
Run for Fun: Assam Rifles conducted “Run for Fun” with students of schools from Pfutsero town on December 30. The event witnessed participation of students along with troops of Assam Rifles who ran a total of 2.4 Kms.
Friendly volleyball match: Assam Rifles organised a friendly volleyball match with youth of Jaboka village at Tizit. The event was organised with the aim to spread importance of good health among local youth, whilst also in alignment with Assam Rifle’s commitment towards building strong and positive relationship with people they serve.
