AR, police team bust arms manufacturing unit in Dmu

A team of Assam Rifles personnel busted an arms manufacturing unit in 5th mile area, Dimapur and arrested on person in this connection.
According to PRO IGAR (N), the arms manufacturing unit was reportedly run by an NSCN (I-M) cadre identified as one ‘leacy’ Simon Yepthomi (35) son of Vikheshe, a resident of Unity village 5th mile.
PRO said that the troops recovered one 7.65 mm pistol, 36 live assorted ammunitions, weapon spare parts, weapon making tools, SP capsule (drugs), & incriminating documents including NSCN (I-M) appointment letter and other war like stores.  
Acting on a tip off, PRO said 18 Assam Rifles launched a joint search operation along with 32 Assam Rifles and Police. 
Upon interrogation Simon revealed that he was making arms and supplying to other cadres of his group as well as illegal commercial sale of weapons to various arms peddlers of the region, PRO stated.
“AR troops, while ensuring peace and tranquillity in Nagaland, have successfully neutralized a functional arms manufacturing factory run by NSCN (IM) cadre  in 5th Mile, Dimapur”, PRO added.
